A sunny open house at Umicore Angleur
On 2 June, 2007, Umicore Angleur organised an open house to mark the end of three years of site rehabilitation. Employees, their families and local residents – 250 people in all – appreciated a special guest: the sun. While some visited the site, others enjoyed a delicious meal in a tent. Activities for children included clowns, bouncy castles and crepes. To commemorate the site’s history, which goes all the way back to 1835, a work of art made of zinc was created by Jacqueline Beeckman, working at Umicore Brussels.
