What You Will Be Doing
The primary focus of the Occupational Health Nurse is employee health and wellness issues at the Autocat and Precious Metals Chemistry site in Catoosa, Oklahoma. The nurse coordinates all employee medical testing and maintains resulting records (past and present). In addition to emergency/first aid attention to employees, the nurse will coordinate personal protective equipment for employees at the site. She/he will also maintain the first aid boxes and AED machines around the plant and replenish first aid cabinets and first aid vending machines as needed. The nurse will assist with HS&E projects as well as HR projects for the site.
Who We Are Looking For
Education & Technical Background
- RN license required with preference given to holders of bachelor degree in nursing.
- 2 to 5 years nursing experience. Industrial nursing experience preferred
The Occupational Health Nurse must understand the relevant, site-specific principles of industrial hygiene and personal protective equipment. Must also understand toxicology and epidemiology specific to the workplace. Must be able to keep impeccable records, communicate well verbally and in writing and work well with others. Must operate within HIPPA and government guidelines on protected and personal health information of employees.
Acute/critical care experience, clinical skills, computer proficiency, confidentiality (HIPPA), creating a safe, effective environment, documentation skills, health promotion and maintenance awareness, interpersonal skills, listening, nursing skills, medical teamwork, multi-tasking, organizational skills, pain management, speaking and verbal communication skills, compassion, critical thinking, database software, and office software, such as spreadsheet and word processing.
