Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure USCA production remains safe, flexible, and efficient to satisfy customers’ needs while the Master Plan is implemented.
  • Participate to the design of USCA new processes.
  • Ensure cross-training and knowledge transfer within the production team.
  • Ensure optimal sourcing strategies to guarantee USCA reliability and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance in USCA supply chain activities.

Purpose of the Job

Ensure safe, flexible, and efficient operations at the CSM USCA plant, including responsibility for production, supply chain, and site security.

Main Responsibilities

 

Management of USCA Production

  • Responsible for USCA production schedule
  • Responsible for USCA production procedures, work instructions, and training assessments
  • Responsible for tracking metal units going through the plant
  • Responsible for the recycling units’ material balances
  • Work closely with USCA Maintenance Manager to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted to minimize production downtime
  • Work closely with USCA Process Engineering team to develop and operate a production data logging system – objective is to ensure a maximal utilization rate of the equipment, a 100% first pass yield, and a minimal metal ‘mali’
  • Work closely with USCA Controller to analyse USCA product lines’ P&L on a monthly basis to ensure achievement / exceedance of budget targets
  • Submit recommendations to USCA Plant Manager to optimize processes from a safety, quality, environment, efficiency, standardization, cost reduction, etc, point of view

     

    Support to the CSM commercial and business development team

  • Interact with CSM worldwide commercial department to ensure customer requirements (specifications and services) can be met
  • Interact with CSM business development team to evaluate manufacturing opportunities for the site

     

    Management of USCA Supply Chain

  • Responsible for USCA sourcing strategies for non-metal materials, packaging, freight, utilities, services, and equipment
  • Work closely with CSM Procurement Team to ensure metal units are sourced in accordance with the site production needs
  • Responsible for USCA Inventory Management with purpose of meeting customer requirements while achieving / exceeding Umicore ROCE target
  • Responsible for USCA import and export compliance
  • Responsible for USCA warehousing compliance
  • Responsible for USCA shipping compliance (DOT, IMDG, IATA)

EHS & Security

  • Responsible for establishing and implementing USCA security program
  • Work in close collaboration with USCA EHS Manager to ensure:
    • USCA Operations are done in accordance with the site Safety Manual, US federal and state laws, and Umicore EHS standards
    • USCA Operations are following ISO 9001 and 14001 standards
    • The site sustainable development goals are established and reached according to Umicore Corporate policy
  • Establish and maintain the housekeeping 5S program
  • Take an active role in USCA Process Safety Management (Process Risk Assessments, Management of Change, etc)
  • Take an active role in USCA Risk Awareness Program

    Human Resources

  • Evaluate and submit proposal to optimize USCA Operations organization
  • Responsible for hiring new members of USCA Operations team
  • Ensure proper development objectives are set for all direct reports and conduct annual evaluations according to Umicore practices
  • Ensure proper mentoring / coaching of all direct and indirect reports takes place
  • Ensure Umicore values are understood and embodied by USCA Operations team
  • When necessary, apply Umicore disciplinary policy

Education & Experience

Minimum Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry

5+ years of manufacturing experience in supervisory role

Knowledge of OSHA, ADEM, and NFPA regulations is a plus

Experience in operating in an ISO environment is a plus

Knowledge of instrumentation and PLC is a plus
