In this position you will be responsible for the global marketing strategy of Umicore’s battery materials portfolio. You will combine the specific product technology offer with all other sustainable value chain services and translate this into long term value proposals for the customer base. In addition, you will be the local senior sales responsible for a number of key-accounts.
This position reports to the VP Business Team Rechargeable Battery Materials.
- You work closely with research and applied technology teams to define the current and future product needs and you translate this towards the specific needs of the different Li-ion battery applications.
- You define the potential long-term sustainable value proposals for the different customers based on a combination of the products and services that Umicore offers (metal management, recycling, sustainable sourcing,…).
- You create and maintain the necessary marketing tools in support of the overall business strategy.
- You provide the commercial and applied technology teams with marketing support for their daily customer contacts.
- You analyze and structure competitive technology and business information to guide applied technology and commercial teams.
- You coach commercial colleagues in your designated area of responsibility.
- You define together with your peers the annual business targets and you contribute actively to the annual business planning exercise.
- You follow closely active material, Li-ion technology and its application trends.
- You have preferably a master’s degree in science, engineering, commercial sciences or business administration.
- You have at least 10 years relevant experience with battery materials for Li-ion technology.
- You are passionate about sustainability and clean technologies.
- You are fluent in English and at least one of Korean, Mandarin, Japanese. Having basic understanding of German or French is an additional asset.
- You are a strong communicator (both written and spoken) and you have a proven track record of being able to relate with different profiles and in different cultures.
- You are positive and open minded with a strong can-do attitude.
- Although you can handle well short-term, action-driven situations you are also mature enough to stay focused on the long term vision.
- You have an analytical mind and are skilled in assimilating, synthesizing, documenting and structuring both technical and business information.
- You are a natural team player focusing on group results first.
