Energy Materials

Profile
The materials produced by Energy Materials can be found in a number of applications used in the production and storage of clean energy including rechargeable batteries and photovoltaics, as well as in a range of other applications. The majority of the products are high-purity metals, alloys, compounds and engineered products based to on cobalt, germanium and nickel.
Business Units
Energy Materials is organized in three business units:
Cobalt Specialty Materials (CSM) is a world leader in cobalt and nickel chemicals. Its key products include compounds used in rechargeable batteries, fine powders used in hard-metal and diamond tools and metallic compounds for ceramics and catalytic applications.
Electro-Optic Materials (EOM) is the world’s foremost producer of germanium materials. Key products include substrates for photovoltaics and LEDs, materials for photonics and lenses and optical assemblies for night vision applications.
Thin Film Products produces metallic targets for producing ultra-thin coatings on a wide range of applications, including photovoltaics and displays.
