Umicore Autocat South Africa commemorates World Aids Day 2008
December 1st is World Aids Day. Living and working in the part of the world that is most exposed to this deadly virus, Umicore Autocats’ HIV and AIDS committee uses the opportunity to raise awareness among employees and to support victims of the disease in our communities.
The theme for the 2008 World Aids Day was Leadership and employees were reminded that we are all leaders in the fight against HIV, be it in our communities, companies or families.
At the meeting, many employees gave moving accounts of the dramatic impact that Aids and related diseases, such as Turberculosis, have on their families and friends.
