Can you describe your role/position at Umicore?

I am an SAP consultant in the PP-QM domain. As a member of the Information Security department, my role is to support Production Planning and Quality management related applications as well as to monitor the process compliance with the group blue print.  

What do you like about your job?

What I enjoy most about my job is that everyone in the team is dedicated to the same mission and vision. This creates a strong work environment the motivates everyone to work as one team.

What do you like about working at Umicore?

It has been a great learning experience for me so far to build up my professional skills through different projects.

Why did you want to work at Umicore?

It is an organization that is growing fast. It offers more opportunities in the long-term to grow and develop your career.

What do you look forward to when you set off to work in the morning?

What I look forward the most is to see my colleagues and chat with them, to me they are just like my friends. I am also happy with the opportunities for professional development, they help me build on my confidence.

What has been the highlight of your time at Umicore so far?

After participating in different projects I believe I now have a good understanding of the business process when it comes to the technical aspects. I am learning fast and I feel confident for the next mission.

Any advice for newcomers?

When new employees are starting learn more about new environment, I encourage them to ask their team members questions. Many people are happy to offer their advice. It will help you adapt to your new job and get on track fast. Don’t be shy!

Who is your female role model?

Gu Ailing Eileen is one of my female role models. I noticed her during the Winter Olympics. I couldn’t like this girl any more. She is exactly the driven , motivated and true spirit that every female, even every person, should try to become. The teaches you the importance of being confident with your unique identity!
