About the Business Young Graduate Program

By means of the Business Young Graduate Program (BYG), Umicore wants to attract young graduates with Umicore Manager’s profiles. As a BYG you will be offered two projects in different business units or sites, see below. Umicore also provides a specific training curriculum to strengthen your managerial skills and to broaden your self-knowledge.

After a successful completion of your two year program, we will assess your development and potential together and find you an appropriate managerial role that is in line with your personal ambitions and competencies. The combination of the trainings and the experiences during your projects are highly appreciated and well observed by our Management Teams.

You will get support from the young talent and onboarding manager during the entire program. And off course we’ll connect you with the community of former YG’s.

What you will be doing

As a BYG Junior Project Manager Warehouse located in Hoboken.

You will be part of the Procurement & Warehousing Team in Belgium. This is a service unit for the different business units of Umicore and amongst other provide an adequate service on delivery and safeguarding of mainly spare parts for the warehouses of Hoboken and Olen. You will take on a project manager role with focus on implementing several identified improvement ideas in the above-mentioned warehouses, as well as exploring new opportunities. Especially you will be heavily involved in the 2021 SAP transition project.

 

As a BYG Junior Manager Transportation department in Hoboken

You will assist with the development of projects conducted by Transport and Trade Compliance team related to process and supply chain improvements.

These projects aim:

  • at improving the contract management, KPI reporting, internal and external communication and collaboration
  • at participating to the implementation of a Transport Management Software (TMS)
Who we are looking for
  • Master degree (graduate in 2021) in (applied) economics, commercial engineering/sciences, or other, with a keen interest for supply, finance and market developments
  • fluent in English, Dutch and French, knowledge of any other language is a plus
  • analytical, fast learner, able to switch priorities
  • focused on results, committed, flexible and with a positive ‘can do’ spirit.
  • team player, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, with hands-on mentality and service-minded.
