About Rechargeable Battery Materials
We are all on the move. Umicore’s rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. What you will be doing
The R&D Manager is responsible for the technical development on optimization of derivative cathode material and process at PP/MP scale with in the RBM-R&D organization at Umicore Korea. The project leader will work with researchers and technicians with collaborative interfaces within the R&D organization as well as outside R&D – such as Engineering/Production. Detailed responsibilities:
1. Develop, organize and follow-up on research within a defined framework. 2. Support, initiate and coordinate pilot trials and MPTRs within the projects as well as competence scopes - Development and optimization of cathode material and derivative cathode at PP/MP scale - Successful Industrialization and transfer to MP for the qualification - Process / product improvement and design fine tuning within key/strategic projects 3. Manage and coordinate execution of the individual projects and report progress with the priorities - Manage of deliberate planning, control, and coordination of all aspects of a project (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing), in order to achieve the agreed objectives 4. Customer samplings timely with AT to achieve key customer projects 5. Securing fundamental data for APQP of new product
Who we are looking for
• Creative in science & Technology with full of curiosity • Able to communicate with open mind • Knowledge and experience in Li-ion battery and cathode material process • PhD in Engineering, metallurgy, material science, … or MS with at least 3 years working experience • Good organizing skills such as project management skill • Team player • Able to work with deadlines independently • Fluent Korean speaker who can communicate in both verbal and written English
