Umicore and IndustriALL renew sustainable development agreement
Today, Umicore and IndustriALL Global Union renewed their Global framework Agreement on Sustainable Development for a period of four years. The agreement covers human rights (including collective bargaining and equal opportunities), safe and healthy working conditions and environmental considerations.
Founded on 19 June 2012, IndustriALL brings together affiliates of the former global union federations: International Metalworkers' Federation (IMF), International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM) and International Textiles Garment and Leather Workers' Federation (ITGLWF). IndustriALL Global Union represents 50 million workers in 140 countries in the mining, energy and manufacturing sectors.
All parties have undertaken to pursue the process of constructive dialogue they initiated in 2007 to ensure successful implementation of the agreement.
Umicore’s Chief Executive Officer, Marc Grynberg, commented: “This agreement reaffirms our commitment towards sustainability in which the engagement of all Umicore employees is key. Umicore et IndustriALL Global Union ont renouvelé aujourd'hui pour une période de 4 ans leur Accord-cadre mondial de Développement Durable. L’accord porte sur les droits de l'Homme (incluant les négociations collectives de travail et l'égalité des chances), la santé et la sécurité au travail et les considérations environnementales.
Fondée le 19 juin 2012, IndustriALL Global Union rassemble les affiliés des anciennes fédérations mondiales syndicales : la Fédération internationale des Organisations de travailleurs de la Métallurgie (FIOM), la Fédération internationale des syndicats des travailleurs de la Chimie, de l'Énergie, des Mines et Industries diverses (ICEM) et la Fédération internationale des Travailleurs du Textile, de l'Habillement et du Cuir (FITTHC). IndustriALL Global Union représente 50 millions de travailleurs des secteurs minier, de l'énergie et de la manufacture dans 140 pays.
Toutes les parties se sont engagées à poursuivre le dialogue constructif entamé en 2007 dans le cadre de cet accord.

Vandaag ondertekenden Umicore en IndustriALL Global Union de hernieuwing van hun Globaal Raamakkoord over Duurzame Ontwikkeling voor een periode van vier jaar. Het akkoord betreft de mensenrechten (inclusief collectieve arbeidsonderhandelingen en gelijke kansen), gezonde en veilige arbeidsvoorwaarden alsook aandacht voor het milieu.
De IndustriALL Global Union, opgericht op 19 juni 2012, verenigt de voormalige globale vakbondsfederaties: de International Metalworkers’ Federation (IMF) en de International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General workers’ Unions (ICEM) en de International Textiles Garment and Leather Workers' Federation (ITGLWF). De IndustriALL Global Union vertegenwoordigt 50 miljoen werknemers uit de mijn-, energie- en productiesectoren in 140 landen.
Alle partijen hebben zich ertoe verbonden om de constructieve dialoog - opgestart in 2007 - verder te zetten om een geslaagde uitvoering van het akkoord te verzekeren.

Op alle Umicore-sites die we bezoeken, zien we dezelfde inzet als op de hoofdzetel in Brussel. Voor ons is dit een duidelijk teken van het engagement van allen.”
