Umicore has joined BACA. This is a national platform for organizations that are serious about their climate ambitions and have chosen or are willing to choose the path towards Science-Based Targets (SBTs).

The SBTi validated Umicore’s near-term 2030 targets to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% compared to the 2019 baseline, and target to reduce its Scope 3 by 42% of CO2 emitted per ton of its purchased materials.

Umicore commits to achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2040 across our global operations and has joined the RE100. The RE100 is a global corporate renewable electricity initiative led by the Climate Group and the CDP with a mission to accelerate change towards zero carbon electricity grids globally by 2040.
