What you will be doing

 

  • Implement Procurement as a strategic partner to the BU’s
  • Deliver on all Procurement and Contract Management objectives (HSE, Quality, Schedule, Cost) for the entire Capex Country project pipeline
  • Strictly follow Corporate Procurement Process and BU Capex management procedure
  • Ensure full compliance with procurement procedures, and initiate improvement to these procedures where required with regards to Capex project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Pro-actively plan team mobilization for Procurement and Contract Management, and plan for a long term view and optimal use of local and global resources
  • Optimize the use of Procurement staff from external contractors, maintaining accountability at the side of Umicore (strategic and critical decisions)
  • Optimal use of the global Umicore Procurement and Engineering network, in order to achieve maximum leverage towards the external market, and develop and or implement category strategies accordingly.
  • Actively seek out alignment with stakeholders to drive forward procurement objectives and implementation of identified best known practices
  • Maintain the right balance on HSE, Quality, Schedule and Cost as defined by BU objectives, and reflect this balance in project strategies and contract award decisions
  • Review and/or Approve all contract award decisions as BU’s LAM.
  • Act as coach for the team with regards to critical contracting issues, expediting and claim issues
  • Act as PPM (Project Procurement Manager) as BU or Team’s request, to conduct all purchasing/commercial related things, incl, but not limited in strategy definition, bidder list proposal, new vendor development and pre-qualification, PO/Contract negotiation, Supplier/Contractor performance evaluation, Payment proceeding or approval, solve issues raised during project execution, etc.
  • Execute and monitor the added value initiatives.
  • Manage local/regional capex purchasing team whom reports to
  • Synergistic cooperation with APAC capex purchasing team
  • Take a strategic and long term view in identifying and developing innovative sources and contractual arrangements, and establish the targets in alignment with global Capex team and internal Clients
  • Join force with P&T category team and/or internal client for local sourcing and project execution
  • Participate in regular or irregular meeting/workshop/discussion to maintain global capex category work as regional representative

Who we are looking for

  • Functional Requirement
  • Bachelor or Master degree (engineering/chemical/electrical/…) or equivalent by experience.
  • Substantial professional experience in Chemical industrial projects procurement in WOFE (> 10 years)
  • Good communication/presentation skill
  • Excellent English is an absolute necessity
  • Frequent Travel is necessary (20-25% time/month)
  • Shor or Long term allocation is possible
  • SAP Ariba application
