What you will be doing

The Group Consolidation team at Umicore, consisting of  5 members, operates within the Group FP&A and Consolidation department. Their primary focus is on financial consolidation, working in close collaboration with the Group Accounting and Controlling team. As consolidation manager you will play a key role within the consolidation team during the monthly, half-yearly and annual closing process. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for local finance teams (global finance services) and partnering with them to ensure quality and robustness of the consolidated package
  • Collecting, reviewing and consolidating financial information for the half-year and Group annual report, and playing an active role in  preparing the half-year and year-end external reporting
  • Monitoring and improving the Robotic Process Automation processes in the spirit of digitalization and innovation, promoting process improvements and seeking digitalization initiatives to enhance the speed, accuracy and harmonization of processes, from ideation to realization
  • Keeping up to date with IFRS regulation and new IFRS standards to assess their potential impact on the Group
  • Overseeing the consolidation of subgroups, including supervising the reconciliation and elimination of intercompany transactions, performing necessary controls on the consolidation packages, preparing the equity reconciliation and cash flow, and preparing the yearly annual report in compliance with the shareholders agreements.

 

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague with the following qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in an accounting environment, audit (BIG 4) or finance consolidation department
  • A strong understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts, including IFRS standards
  • Fluency in English
  • The ability to work in a highly information system-driven environment, including proficiency in Office tools (mainly Excel), SharePoint, Consolidation and Reporting tools, and disclosure management solutions, ). Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is a plus
  • A collaborative attitude and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills fostering positive working relationship with other departments
  • An innovative mindset and the ability to act as an agent of change, actively seeking continuous improvements.
