About Rechargeable Battery Materials in Canada

Umicore is preparing to build a battery materials production plant in Loyalist Township, Ontario - the first of its kind in North America. The cutting-edge facility will be a critical part of Canada’s electric vehicle (EV) supply chain. Throughout the design, construction, and operation of the plant, Umicore will be seeking a variety of professionals who share our passion for innovation and sustainability.

 

What you will be doing

For this new site, we are looking for a Project Cost Controller Technician reporting to the Project Liaison Team Leader. In this this role you will be responsible for guaranteeing  the correct allocation of the project costs in SAP/WBS,  reporting project variations and  preparing the project actuals and forecasts for management review. This role contributes to the project by guaranteeing the correct allocation of costs to the correspondent WBS, hence guaranteeing a good knowledge and control of the project budget.

 

Responsibilities

  • Guaranteeing the correct WBS allocation of project costs
  • Actively managing SAP/WBS cost allocation and highlighting any variations
  • Provide actuals per WBS to support forecasting by Project Managers
  • Consolidate quarterly and monthly project cost forecast reported by PM
  • Updating forecasts in Planisware
  • Reporting actual costs of the yearly Engineering department budgets

 

Who we are looking for

  • Education or combination of education and experience in a project cost controlling
  • Experience and/or background in industrial companies, preferably linked to engineering or operations
  • Strong communicator who can collaborate with diverse disciplines
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS Office package
  • Experience with SAP software a strong asset
  • Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.
