About P&O (People & Organization)

The 2030 RISE Strategy has set-out an ambitious transformation and growth trajectory for Umicore with a goal to enable our 2030 strategy by maximizing cash flow in existing businesses through optimization while conquering new business fields. P&O (People & Organization) will act as a strong strategic partner to these functions in setting the agenda for all related organization and people management priorities while being fully imbedded in and delivering on the overall Umicore P&O (People & Organization) strategy.

 

What you will be doing

The Global P&O (People & Organization) Business Partner is responsible for several Catalysis & Recycling departments, partially spread across the globe but with strong focus on Hoboken/Belgium, providing expertise and guidance in areas of culture and change management, strategic coaching, talent assessment and development, succession planning, performance management and organizational design. Critical in co-developing and executing P&O (People & Organization) strategy in enablement of the department’s business objectives and a connected partner for the business leaders.

The position holder is working in close collaboration with site P&O (People & Organization), P&O (People & Organization) operations and the CoEs, ensuring all implemented P&O (People & Organization)  processes and strategies are in line with local legal requirements as well as Umicore P&O (People & Organization) global processes.

 

You have strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, you have analytical and decision-making skills. You are a reliable partner, well organized, understand prioritization, are entrepreneurial and goal-oriented.

You will be based in our office in Antwerp-Hoboken.

 

Your Responsibilities

As a Global P&O Business Partner

  • You understand the business needs, identify related P&O (People & Organization) priorities, generate and deliver on projects and initiatives and collaborate closely with the CoEs to provide solutions for the business
  • You are a Partner with assigned management team members and their leadership teams to develop and execute both long-term and short-term departmental P&O (People & Organization) strategies that directly support and enable business objectives
  • You act as an organizational coach, who builds organizational capabilities, reduces complexity and partners with leaders to maximize performance
  • You are strategically partner with assigned leaders to design and implement the most effective organizational structures and manage transitions using change acceleration techniques
  • You provide timely, effective and direct coaching, assisting in the development of strong, contemporary leadership skills in line with the Umicore values
  • You provide strategic coaching to leaders as related to succession planning, career path development and performance management
  • You co-lead talent assessment in the organization, identifying key employee strengths and development needs in order to recognize and develop key talent and select the best candidates
  • You co-Lead succession planning and talent development strategies for the organization, identifying critical roles and preparing potential talent and pipelines, mentoring, training etc.
  • You lead through critical P&O  (People & Organization) operating rhythms, such as performance management, succession planning, salary planning, leveraging assistance from site and corporate P&O (People & Organization) sources (e.g. P&O Administration, Employee Relations) as appropriate
  • You are also a partner with site and corporate P&O (People & Organization), setting up fundamental P&O (People & Organization) activities in order to focus on strategic organizational and employee development strategies, while regionally securing as much consistency as possible
  • You act as a Partner with global business leaders to drive organizational und cultural change initiatives

 

Who we are looking for

    • You hold a Master's degree in HR, Psychology, Economics or equivalent through experience in such a HR position
    • You are fluent in Dutch and English (spoken & written) this is a must
    • You have minimum 5 - 7 years’ work experience in several HR functions
    • Certification in change management and coaching techniques preferable
    • Savvy in relevant labour law
    • Experience in dealing with labour law issues
    • Experience in Compensation & Benefits
    • Experienced facilitator of various group sizes on all leadership levels
    • Coaching and leadership assessment experience
    • Demonstrated ability to use knowledge and judgement to make sound decisions
    • Demonstrated ability to drive the P&O strategic agenda using knowledge of the organization and the employees
    • Capable of handling multiple issues and/or projects simultaneously and executing to completion
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a demanding, high performance work environment and team-oriented culture
    • Excellent collaboration, influencing, project management, organizational and change agent skills
    • Ability to lead in complex, matrix, goal driven organizations, with a specific track record of working effectively with all level of management strong internal and external customer mind-set
    • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Ability to work in changing environments, see through complexity and strategically promote an inclusive/diverse workforce
    • Passion for innovative P&O solutions and process improvement
    • Experienced facilitation skills
    • Knowledge in change management techniques and organizational development
    • Trained/experienced in coaching techniques
    • Ability to effectively partner with business and HR stakeholders
