What you will be doing

The primary focus of the Catalyst Specialist is to monitor and adjust coating solutions, operate coating equipment, operate Leister equipment, operate parts washers, process wastewater, maintain tool crib, move the product through the coating process, including loading and unloading of the product, and management of scrap material.

Who we are looking for

Education & Technical Background

High school diploma or equivalent is required. At least six months experience in a manufacturing field is preferred and candidates must understand basic Statistical Process Control (SPC). Must also be able to interface with customized control systems, PLC’s (programmable logic controllers), information systems software, and PC-based software required to complete job tasks.

Behavioral Competencies

Successful candidates must possess basic problem-solving abilities that may be required to perform job tasks and must have sufficient oral and written communication skills to adequately convey information to others in order to complete job tasks. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently and within a team. Must show consistency and proficiency in each newly trained task within 30 days of training. Other important attributes are adherence to methods, people skills, resourcefulness, good numbers sense, and ability to work with hands. Must be able to interface with information systems software and PC-based software required to complete job tasks and support improvements for efficiency or effectiveness of the laboratory processes. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers and decimals as well as be able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage using whole numbers and decimals. Must understand the units of measure used in the manufacturing process and be able to compute conversions between different units of measure as required in the area of responsibility.  The candidate must possess oral and written communication skills to adequately convey information to others in order to complete job tasks.
