Dividend information

Umicore’s policy is to pay a stable or gradually increasing dividend. There is no fixed pay-out ratio. The dividend is proposed by the Supervisory Board at the ordinary (or annual) shareholders’ meeting.

In 2019, Umicore paid a gross dividend of € 0,75 per share relating to the financial year 2018. This was an increase by € 0.05 compared to the gross dividend paid in 2018 in respect of the financial year 2017.

As a matter of prudence and in light of the extreme unpredictability of the global situation linked to COVID-19, in March 2020, Umicore’s Supervisory Board proposed a dividend of € 0.375 per share in respect of the full year 2019. This amounts corresponded to the amount of the interim dividend of € 0.375 per share which had been paid out on 27 August 2019. The proposal was approved at the annual shareholders meeting of 30 April 2020.

In July 2020, the Supervisory Board decided to pay out an interim dividend for the full year 2020 of € 0.25 per share. The interim dividend was paid out on 25 August 2020.
