Established in 1991, Umicore Americana serves the automotive internal combustion engines with its emission control catalysts, including technologies for gasoline and diesel passenger vehicles as well as for heavy-duty & non-Road applications. The complex includes a unique and complete Tech Center for Automotive Catalyst development and prototype development center. In 2021 the site was expanded with the transfer of activities from Guarulhos and now additionally manufactures and supplies high-tech products for the chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, electronics and jewelry markets, among others, as well as operating in metal recycling as part of the ‘closed loop’ business model.
