Umicore joins the Belgian Alliance for Climate Action

Stories

To address climate change and limit global warming we need to act now. Umicore is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2035. As a global company headquartered in Belgium and with local industrial activities, Umicore has joined the Belgian Alliance for Climate Action (BACA). This is a national platform for organizations that are serious about their climate ambitions and have chosen or are willing to choose the path towards Science-Based Targets (SBTs).

Sustainability has always been at the heart of our vision at Umicore. We decided many years ago that truly incorporating sustainability in our business strategy would be the only way forward. This is the decade of action as the next ten years are crucial to counter climate change. Only by joining forces we can drive the transition to a net-zero economy. We join BACA because we recognize the urgency of acting upon climate change and want to be part of the movement of leading and responsible Belgian organizations willing to drive positive change. In June 2021 Umicore committed to pursuing SBTi validation of its net zero GHG approach.
