About Umicore

Powering the cars of today and tomorrow. Reducing harmful emissions. Giving unique properties to high-end applications. Giving new life to used metals. As a global advanced materials and recycling group, we develop, produce, and recycle materials for a better life.

About Support Functions

A global organisation. It’s not just those in our industrial sites and technical centres that are vital to Umicore’s growth. Across our support functions we ensure that we continue to grow and evolve – whether it’s by making sure our decisions are commercially viable, enhancing our reputation, building new customer relationships or finding the right people who can build on what we’ve already achieved. The variety of our work means we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in.

Your Key Accountabilities

As Category Manager - Enterprise Services Procurement, you play a key role in Umicore’s evolution from transactional procurement to a strategic, enterprise-wide value partner. Operating at the intersection of business, suppliers, and governance, you combine strategic insight with strong execution, enabling Umicore to leverage scale, manage risk proactively, and deliver measurable value.

Enterprise Services include all Corporate Services and IT.
  • Define and own the category strategy and multi‑year roadmap for Enterprise Services
  • Set standards for how Umicore buys within your category (sourcing approaches, templates, governance rules, contracting guardrails)
  • Drive sourcing activities and negotiations with key suppliers
  • Lead the category operating rhythm (pipeline prioritization, performance tracking, escalation management)
  • Ensure compliance, risk control, and alignment with internal stakeholders (Legal, Finance, Risk, IT/Architecture)
  • Act as a trusted partner to business stakeholders, balancing enterprise standards with business needs
  • Contribute to the continuous professionalization of Procurement, including mentoring colleagues
  • Lead and develop a small team
Who we are looking for
  • An experienced procurement or category management professional with a strong track record (ideally in manufacturing environments)
  • Strong expertise in category management and supplier management
  • Comfortable working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • A solid negotiator
  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and driven, with a hands-on mindset
  • Experience with tools such as Power BI; familiarity with Ariba is a plus
  • Fluent in English (Dutch and/or French are a plus)
