Umicore in Poland
Umicore Poland plays a pivotal role in Umicore’s global strategy for clean mobility and sustainable materials. With two advanced production sites—one in Nysa and another in Nowa Ruda—Umicore Poland supports the automotive industry’s transition to a greener future. The Nysa plant, launched in 2022, is Europe’s first cathode materials gigafactory. It produces high-performance cathode active materials (CAM) for lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles, contributing to a fully circular and sustainable battery ecosystem. Meanwhile, the Nowa Ruda site has been operating since 2015, manufacturing cutting-edge automotive catalysts. Together, these sites represent Umicore’s commitment to innovation, environmental responsibility, and local community engagement in Poland.
