Dual-function emission control for FCC units
Umicore’s DNO FCC (Fluidized Catalytic Cracking) catalysts are designed to deliver combined emission control and are specifically suited for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) installations on fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) units. Based on a fiber‑reinforced noble metal–vanadium–tungsten–titania formulation, they enable efficient carbon monoxide (CO) oxidation together with VOC and DeNOₓ activity, supporting reliable operation across varying temperature conditions.
The DNO catalysts share the features of the well-proven DNX® catalyst and can replace the lower DNX® layer in an SCR reactor, enabling targeted CO removal, particularly during low-load operation of FCC units. This supports stable operation while optimizing existing system configurations.
The fiber‑reinforced design provides high resistance to thermal shock, allowing fast heat‑up and supporting rapid compliance during start-up conditions.
