Lead is best known for its role in lead-acid batteries, which are still widely used in vehicles and backup power systems. It is also found in radiation shielding, solders, specialty glass, and construction materials. Umicore recycles lead from industrial byproducts and processes it at our precious metals refining site, where we also recover other critical and valuable materials including antimony, silver, and bismuth.
