Dual-function emission control for gas turbines
Umicore’s DNX GTC (Gas Turbine Dual FunCtion) catalysts are designed for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) installations in gas turbine applications. Based on a fiber‑reinforced noble metal–vanadium–tungsten–titania catalyst, they enable efficient carbon monoxide (CO) and volatile organic compounds (VOC) oxidation together with DeNOₓ activity, supporting reliable performance across varying operating conditions.
The dual-function design allows flexible positioning within the system, either upstream or downstream of the SCR stage. This enables optimized system configurations, where ammonia slip and remaining NOₓ can be treated simultaneously across the DNX GTC catalyst. As a result, overall SCR catalyst volume can be reduced by up to 40%, with a total pressure drop reduction of up to 25%.
The low volume and high void design result in reduced thermal mass, enabling fast heat‑up and rapid response. This supports shorter start-up times and helps ensure early emission compliance in gas turbine operations.
