High-performance NOâ‚“ reduction for high-dust applications

Umicore’s DNX HD (High Dust) catalysts are designed for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) installations in high-dust environments. Based on a fiber‑reinforced vanadium–tungsten–titania catalyst with a 0.8 mm wall, they are suited for applications such as coal-fired boilers, where high dust loads require robust and reliable catalyst performance.

The catalyst design is tailored to operating conditions, with cell density selected to accommodate dust content in the flue gas. This supports stable activity and efficient operation across varying process configurations.

The low weight of the DNX® catalyst contributes to reduced SO₂ oxidation, optimized through the balance between vanadium content and operating temperature. Its tri-modal pore structure supports high poison resistance and a low ammonium bisulfate (ABS) dew point, while the fiber‑reinforced carrier ensures high mechanical durability and resistance to thermal shock.

This combination supports reliable operation and enables fast load changes in demanding environments, helping maintain performance over time.
