Automotive Catalysts is at the core of Umicore’s vision to create materials for a better life through sustainable development, production, and recycling. We contribute to this in three ways:
- Our products make mandated air quality improvements possible for all types of combustion and hybrid engines.
- We make maximum use of metals recycled from end-of-life catalysts through our closed loop approach to resource management.
- We continually work to make our manufacturing processes even more environmentally friendly.
We also empower our customers to meet their climate goals by aggressively reducing our own carbon footprint, directly lowering their Scope 3 emissions. Through sustainable innovation and cleaner production, we ensure that our catalyst solutions contribute to a more transparent and low-carbon value chain.

All Umicore Automotive Catalysts sites globally hold certificates IATF 16949 for Quality, ISO 14001 for Environment, and ISO 45001 for Health and Safety. All newly built plants or sites follow that approach in a set time frame.
As a provider of products and services to the automotive industry, we must comply with stringent individual customer standards. Our entire organization is committed to constantly improving the quality of our products, processes, and services to ensure that our customers receive high-quality products produced under environmentally friendly conditions in safe workplaces.
