The Umicore site in Pasadena, Texas, is engaged in design and manufacturing activities to satisfy the SCR, CO and VOC catalysis application needs of a broad range of industries such as Power & Propulsion, Refining & Petrochemicals, Chemical and Industrial. Our catalysts are among others applied to the chemical industry, refineries, steel, glass and cement manufacturing with superior poison resistance. Customers therefore benefit from longer service life or reduced ammonia consumption thereby lowering overall unit operation and maintenance cost. This site focuses on the development and supply of fuel cell and stationary emission control catalysts for a variety of applications, including power generation, hydrogen production, marine propulsion, and automotive sector solutions. This site supports Umicore’s broader catalysis business, targeting cleaner mobility and sustainable industrial processes.

Beijing is the strategic nerve center for the sales of automotive catalysts and stationary catalysts.

Umicore’s Tianjin plant produces automotive catalysts for heavy duty vehicles as well as stationary and non-road catalysts for global markets.

The first R&D center of Umicore Group in Greater China houses Umicore's stationary and fuel cell catalysts, battery materials, recycling technologies, digitalization and other new business innovations.

Umicore’s largest site in Germany is located in the Hanau-Wolfgang Industrial Park and employs over 900 people focused on R&D for precious and specialty metal products. As one of Umicore’s main research hubs for clean technologies, it brings together extensive expertise for customers in the automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical, glass, and fertilizer industries.
