Umicore supports  SDGs through innovative products and practices that minimize negative impacts, protect the environment, promote social progress and support economic growth.


Umicore supports the ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact on Human Rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.

Umicore has joined BACA. This is a national platform for organizations that are serious about their climate ambitions and have chosen or are willing to choose the path towards Science-Based Targets (SBTs).


Umicore supports the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and will pursue SBTi validation of its Net Zero GHG approach.

The SBTi validated Umicore’s near-term 2030 targets to reduce its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% compared to the 2019 baseline, and target to reduce its Scope 3 by 42% of CO2 emitted per ton of its purchased materials.


 Umicore has obtained the 2022 Terra Carta Seal.

Umicore commits to achieving 100% renewable electricity by 2040 across our global operations and has joined the RE100. The RE100 is a global corporate renewable electricity initiative led by the Climate Group and the CDP with a mission to accelerate change towards zero carbon electricity grids globally by 2040.
